South Australian space companies based at Lot Fourteen’s newly named SpaceLab building have collectively seen a four-fold increase in new jobs created since moving into the innovation district.
Inovor Technologies, QuantX Labs, Sitael Australia, CyberOps and Neumann Space have all experienced exponential growth within the last few years, which is said to be in part due to co-location with the Australian Space Agency, SmartSat CRC and other space-related organisations.
Based in the former Hanson building, the companies have expanded offices, lab spaces, cyber ranges and clean rooms to continue driving growth within the South Australian space sector, which now consists of over 100 space-related companies.
Dr Matthew Tetlow, CEO at Inovor Technologies, said SpaceLab offers its own unique ecosystem that allows the residing companies to work cohesively together.
“Being in a CBD-based innovation district puts us at a distinct advantage as we’re co-located with our clients and partners, helping us innovate and continue to provide solutions to the defence and space sector,” said Dr Tetlow.
Premier of South Australia, Peter Malinauskas said SpaceLab is a key example of the benefits innovation districts provide in building the state’s world-class capabilities across growing sectors.
